At the 2017 LPMN State Convention, members will have the opportunity to meet our new Executive Director, Matt Kowalski!

A filmmaker and entrepreneur, Kowalski owns a media consulting agency in Crystal, Minnesota.  He became involved with the LPMN as campaign manager for the Holbrook/Dock Libertarian gubernatorial ticket in 2014.  He remained active in the party, with a recent highlight being his filming of promotional material about the Libertarian stances on Sunday liquor sales and legalizing cannabis.

He was approved as Executive Director in February, and immediately set to work recruiting new members and handling behind-the-scenes tasks.

His hire follows the departure of Valerie Lockhart, who left the position due to increasing obligations with her business after a change in ownership structure.  LPMN Chair Chris Dock saluted Lockhart’s efforts, stating “Valerie helped tremendously with our petition efforts to obtain ballot access for Gary Johnson as our presidential candidate, and with our outreach efforts at the Minnesota State fair and several county fairs.  We will miss her energy and positive spirit, and wish her the best in the future.”

Remarking about the choice of Matt Kowalski, Dock added “We were fortunate to have a longtime LPMN collaborator step forward to apply for the Executive Director position.  Matt has worked with us extensively in the past at our outreach efforts, and has been the video producer for convention and marketing materials for the party.  Matt brings a strong background in marketing and media production to the role, and has been a key member of the organizational committee for the State Convention.”

Matt Kowalski introduces himself to members, saying “I look forward to pressing forward with you all.  Let us never betray our principles but let us always mold and improve our message.  In 2017, you will see a stronger push on organized outreach, system upgrades in communications and marketing, as well as a laser-sharp focus on candidate recruitment and targeting, and utilizing a record number of volunteers. The best marketing strategy in my opinion is caring.  I look forward to growing the movement with you all.  Live Free.”

If you attend the State Convention on Saturday, April 29, please give Matt Kowalski a warm welcome!
