The Vans Warped Tour, a festival of alternative, punk, metal, and rap music, came to Shakopee in August. Several thousand people, mostly young adults, enjoyed an afternoon of freedom of expression with music by their favorite bands.

Outright Libertarians, the GLBT affiliate of the LPMN, set up a booth at this year's Pride in Loring Park, Minneapolis.

In a multi-state effort coordinated by the LPIL, the LPMN assisted with volunteers and funding for a booth at the Midwest Renewable Energy Fair in central Wisconsin in June.

The start time for the LPMN State Convention has been changed. The convention will now start at 2:30pm and end at 7:30pm. The schedule has been slightly modified accordingly.

The LPMN is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2009 state convention, titled "Selling Liberty". This event will focus on how to position our party as one that serves and meets the concerns of someone new. We will feature speakers Pat Anderson, Edmund Contoski, and keynote Wayne Allyn Root. It will be held on June 13 from 2:30pm-7:30pm at the VFW Post 5555 in Richfield, MN. See the event registration page for speaker descriptions, event details, and prices. LPMN chairman, Bob Odden, has started a new public access television program titled At Issue. The first episode aired Monday, May 11 at 9:00pm featured, "a discussion about the state of youth in our school district and how parents and the community need to get involved in raising tomorrow's leaders."

Yesterday's 2009 Tax Cut Rally was a success. The LPMN had a table set up and were giving out information and spreading the message of liberty to those in attendance. Photos from the event are being posted in our Meetup group and our Facebook group.

2008 Libertarian vice presidential candidate, Wayne Allyn Root, has stated interest in speaking at the Libertarian Party of Minnesota state convention, tentatively scheduled for June 13, 2009. Details on the state convention will be posted soon.
