Restricted polling practice continues at KSTP, contact them today!

We need your help! It's something you can do right now, just sitting at your computer. Please take a moment to send a quick email to Tom Hauser and others at KSTP, expressing your disappointment that some folks (including our Libertarian candidates) were omitted from their recent poll, and ask them to include ALL candidates on the ballot in their future polls. We'd previously encouraged people to contact Mr Hauser after his last poll, and he ignored us ... so now it's time to take the gloves off.

Public education is another form of corporate welfare

Before the Industrial Revolution(IR) education was private. But the IR brought about a change in needs by our new industrial sector because everything was standardized on the assembly line. So two types of workers were needed - large numbers of workers standing in the line who needed to be ready to read, write, and do basic arithmetic (sound familiar?) to do his job - and a smaller group of managers who would be better trained and able to make limited decisions.

LPMN Weekly Message – Police Accountability & Alternatives

In light of the events in Ferguson Missouri, police powers and accountability are a top news story. Images of police in armored vehicles, with automatic weapons on tripods aimed at protestors, are quite disturbing for libertarians ... and for the public at large. For some time, Libertarians have been warning about military-grade weapons in the hands of police, and now, the phrase "militarization of the police" has entered the public consciousness.

Bob Odden spearheading voter referendum effort for Columbia Heights library bonding bill

I am devoted to our Democratic form of government with checks and balances. For this form of government to work, citizens need the ability to vote on issues in free and fair elections. At the city level this includes being able to vote on rare multi-million dollar government projects. This is part of my commitment as a candidate running for the position of Minnesota Secretary of State. To fulfill this commitment, I spoke at the June 9 Columbia Heights City Council meeting asking the Council to put the question of bonding for a new library on the November 4 general election ballot. Columbia Heights citizens would then vote for or against the bonding bill.

Keegan Iversen at the Delano 4th of July Parade (video)

"Being a Veteran and an underdog most of my life has taught me the work ethic to get the job done. Work always comes before success. If you’re not hearing about the State Auditor unless its during an election cycle then the position is not working for you. I can change that. Let's make a difference in Minnesota and bring transparency and accountability. It's time for a revamp of the State Auditor's Office." -Keegan Iversen

Get Libertarian candidates out to the Fairs!

Want to get the Libertarian Party's candidates directly engaged with the voters of Minnesota? Help us fund our summer outreach, including attendance at the State Fair! As we continue to gain traction, it's critical in this election year to be as visible as ever. These fairs consistently deliver a great bang for your buck for the 4 to 5 days each County Fair runs. And of course, we'll be at the grand daddy of them all, the State Fair! (It was a massive success last year). We need a total of $3500 by the the end of this week, June 29th, to get to all these and fully equip them with our literature and other marketing materials.

Libertarians left off recent KSTP/SurveyUSA poll. Tell KSTP that your representation matters!

Coming on the heels of endorsing conventions and the closing of the candidate filing period, here's the latest poll out from KSTP/SurveyUSA. Voters often wonder why they haven't heard about alternative parties by the time the election rolls around. And here's just one reason why. Politics is, I mean should be, a "marketplace of ideas," and in a day and age with immeasurable choices in so many aspects of your life, there is still one "market" where competition is artificially stifled.
