We’d like to introduce our second candidate of the day, David Holsinger running for MN House District 57b as a Libertarian. He won our official nomination at the LPMN State Convention on April 16.

“On our very first day of canvassing, the town of Rosemount in District 57B is holding a special election on a $15 million bond referendum. Voters will be asked to support a property tax increase that will equate to $99/yr (for the median household) to expand recreational facilities – primarily ball fields and a hockey rink. Businesses will see a 1.6% tax increase for the same purpose.

We’re sure there are plenty of residents who won’t be thrilled about getting to donate an extra $99 to fund youth sports when parents or private donors should be footing the bill themselves. There’s also the matter of this measure sneaking its way into a special election in May, rather than waiting for the general election in November, when it would be far less likely to pass.” – David Holsinger

Like all Libertarians, petition signatures are required for ballot access.  Over 500 signatures must be collected in district 57b between May 17 and May 31. If you can volunteer for this effort, please help us.  You can sign up directly on David’s campaign site as a volunteer here.

He has also organized several specific ballot petitioning efforts:

May 17 – Signup here

May 21 – Signup here

David and all of the LPMN nominated candidates can be found on our Candidates page.
