The LPMN’s affiliate, Outright Libertarians, returned again this year to the Gay Pride festival at Loring Park, Minneapolis, in June. It was an opportunity for libertarians to stand in support of the GLBT community and for everyone’s freedom to associate with others of their choice, without restriction from government.

2010 Gay Pride QuizVolunteers connected with many liberty-minded people at the festival. The LPMN’s main outreach tool, the World’s Smallest Political Quiz, was featured to give people an idea of where they lie on the four-quadrant political spectrum. A total of 312 people took the quiz over the weekend, with an orange sticker applied to the chart for each quiz-taker. As shown in the photo, a majority landed in the Liberal Quadrant (left side of the chart) as might be expected. However, a considerable number also landed in the Libertarian Quadrant (top of the chart). While a few who stopped by the booth already knew they were libertarians, many discovered this for the first time. It was also a chance for liberals to see that they hold some important views in common with libertarians, in support of personal freedom and social tolerance.
