On-Going Volunteer Opportunities
Libertarian Party Of Minnesota - Liberty Center
volunteer@lpmn.org
651-646-8980
Positions Available
Each of these positions is vital to the continued growth and success of the party. These coordinators make a brief monthly report at the Executive Committee meeting, discussing what is being planned, and identifying what the party might do to help.
Office Sitters
We need more party members to take office shifts. Time during a shift can be used to do anything from cleaning the office to writing letters, to surfing the Internet on our DSL connection. All we ask is that you show up for your time slot and treat any visitors well.
Newsletter Editor We are seeking someone to be in charge of getting the newsletters out on a timely basis. The editor would also be responsible for writing reports of current party activities.
RUNNING FOR OFFICE
The Libertarian Party Of Minnesota is growing. We want to run more candidates and get more Libertarians elected to office. Have you considered running for office? We’re looking for charismatic, well-spoken, dedicated candidates to run for local or state offices, partisan or non-partisan.
To begin your campaign, or if your campaign has already begun, contact LPMN Candidate Recruitment and Development Chair Bob Odden at 612.987.2063 or email bobodden@lpmn.org.
We have volunteers that can help you with your website, campaign materials, advertising, press releases, yard signs, and more!
CAMPAIGN STAFF OPPORTUNITIES
If you’re more interested in helping “behind the scenes” on a campaign, there are several opportunities to join a campaign staff in paid or voluntary position. We are currently looking for a:
CAMPAIGN MANAGER This person is responsible for the development, coordination, and executing the Campaign Plan on a full or part-time basis. Must work well under pressure, delegate responsibility, and keep focus. The CM should be a good representative for the candidate. Experience is preferred. Campaign managers are needed now.
FUNDRAISER - Qualified candidates should have strong writing skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, to work independently, and to supervise others. Works to develop aggressive direct mail programs, internet fundraising plan, call time plan, and planning fundraising events. Creativity is welcome.
HOUSE PARTY HOST - This person would host parties to help outreach. Invite family, friends, and neighbors to discuss the issues and to fundraise.
TREASURER - This person is responsible for collecting and recording campaign donations and expenditures. Must have basic accounting skills and experience is a plus.
EVENT COORDINATOR - This person handles all the requests for the candidate to appear at events. This person determines which events are worth scheduling and arranges for transportation.
I'd like to help. Where do I sign up? Please contact the Volunteer Chair Corey Stern at 612.804.9486 or email coreystern@lpmn.org to get started.
If you also know others who may be interested in running for office or being in a campaign staff - have them contact us too.
